Bridg The Future, we are launched

Bridg The Future, a look back at a successful event
Bridg has been launched, what a day! A new start that makes our focus visible: transforming the operation of public institutions. Building software for the government together, that was to be expected during the first edition of Bridg The Future. Innovation, technology, and collaboration that build the bridge to the future, a future that we want to construct together with our clients and partners.

The launch of Bridg

Ready, set, go!

The day was full of energy. We kicked off with an introduction by Frederik Riebbels, our CEO, who warmly welcomed 'the friends of Bridg' at the trade fair in Antwerp. This location, which has symbolised trade, innovation and connection for centuries, was no coincidence chosen as a unique point to come together. It provided the perfect setting for a first acquaintance with our new brand Bridg: majestic and inspiring.

"We believe that co-creating solutions with government partners not only ensures success in the short term, but also sustainable, scalable innovation," said Frederik. At Bridg, everything revolves around creating added value with our modern, accessible and innovative software, specially developed for the public sector in Belgium and the Netherlands, he added.

Break-outs

Next, participants had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with how technology genuinely helps to make public services smarter and more efficient. With a varied program consisting of 9 break-out sessions, each divided over 3 tracks, attendees could explore Bridg and its partners' portfolio:

The colleagues Kim Wenseleers & Koen Laurijsen provided an introduction and demo of the Nimbl case management platform.

Steve Van der Vliet, Unit Manager Metix discussed efficient, real-time data exchange in the public sector. Together with Olivier Van Raemdonck who presented the new AI for gov.

Sacha De Maere, Architect, and Gert Nys, Product Manager at JustOne, provided insights into the digital justice of tomorrow with JustOne

Martijn van der Jagt, Advisor & Simon Rijsewijk, R&D discussed how iprox supports digital services with a focus on open government information, AI and digital discoverability.

Bridg The Future was just the beginning. We are fully prepared to support the public sector with software that is just as progressive and dynamic as the organisations we work with.

Jeroen Baert

AI ai ai..

After the technical session, it was time for a light-hearted (in hindsight, hilarious) keynote by Jeroen Baert. A comedian who combines his technical background with humor to make complex technology, especially around AI, understandable and engaging. He immediately set the tone with fun, primarily accessible AI facts. In just a few minutes, he pulled a Bridg-anthem out of his sleeve, one we could immediately take to Eurovision ;-)

He also emphasised that not everything we see is a revolution. We need to be sharp on what AI can and (still) cannot do, and we must dare to critically question the hype, especially in the public sector.
