A day in the life of Anup Chauhan

A day in the life of Anup Chauhan
Every team has that one person who’s solving complex puzzles before most of us have had our first coffee. Meet Anup Chauhan: a technical analyst with a knack for clarity, a love for logic, and a calm, people-first approach to even the most tangled database challenges.

A day at Bridg

Mornings start early in our house. With two toddlers, the day usually kicks off around 5:30 or 6 a.m. My wife and I try to squeeze in a short workout before sunrise. Then I wrangle the kids into breakfast mode, drop them off at school and then I head to the office.

First thing in the office is to grab a cappuccino, while my laptop wakes up too. Then I plan my day – usually starting with the most complex task to tackle it while my brain is still firing on all cylinders. No distractions, just deep focus and a solid to-do list.

As a Technical Analyst I prepare the ground so others can code efficiently. I take the functional analysis – describing what the customer wants – and turn it into a technical blueprint: which tables to use, what data to fetch, what logic to apply, etc. These analyses are picked up by a team of developers. But I don’t stop there. I review the code, give feedback, and occasionally jump in to develop when deadlines loom. It’s all about keeping the code readable, maintainable, and efficient.

Late mornings and afternoons usually involve  a quick sync with a developer, a walkthrough of an analysis, or a daily stand-up with the team. We work agile, in two-week sprints, with clear goals and constant collaboration.

My biggest challenge is learning Dutch. I’m originally from India and first came to Belgium for a telecom project, fell in love (literally), and decided to stay. Eleven years later, I’m still around and still struggling with syllables and puns. Therefore, I listen to Dutch podcasts while driving. Slowly getting there!

The day gets a golden lining when I deliver an analysis and the developers have zero questions. A not-so-perfect one? When someone’s waiting on me and I couldn’t deliver. But even then, I see it as a chance to grow. That’s actually one more challenge: staying on top of things in a fast-moving tech world.

What I love most? The people. It sounds simple, but when colleagues genuinely ask how you’re doing – and mean it – that matters. And I enjoy working with experts who also happen to be great colleagues. We’re a professional team that’s process-driven, friendly and always evolving.

If I had to recommend this job to a friend, I’d say this: you’re always learning. Bridg stays up to date with the latest tools and technologies unlike some companies that stick with outdated systems. Here, we’re building things the right way, and we’re always improving. That makes me excited about the future. I can easily see myself still working here ten years from now.

The end of the workday is predictable and priceless. I clean up my desk, return my coffee cup, say goodbye to my teammates, and head out to pick up the kids. Evenings are sacred. Three hours of playtime (with the kids, obviously 😉), dinner, and bedtime stories.

From time to time, when silence returns and the toys stop screaming, I log back in – not out of pressure, but out of curiosity. I’m always learning, always exploring new tech. That’s what gives me energy.
