Smarter integration at Lekkerland

Lekkerland wanted to make the ERP system Legmis work more smoothly with surrounding systems, such as the MDM and pricing modules. The goal? To streamline processes and create space for innovation.

Together with Bridg, Lekkerland opted for an API-led approach, built on Azure API Management. This approach lays a solid foundation for a flexible IT landscape that evolves with the organisation's ambitions.

The solution: API-led integration on Azure

Bridg designed an integration architecture based on the API-led model, arranged in three layers. This creates a flexible and maintainable structure:

• System APIs – expose back-end systems such as ERP and MDM
• Process APIs – combine logic and make data usable for applications
• Experience APIs – provide (in a later phase) output tailored to user or channel type

The complete solution is built in .NET and runs on Microsoft Azure - fully aligned with Lekkerland's cloud strategy.

With this approach, Bridg, together with Lekkerland, built a solid digital foundation. Specifically, this resulted in:

Seven REST APIs in the process layer, including:

• Source code and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
• Deployments across all OTAP environments
• Unit tests for quality assurance

A secure and manageable API platform, via Azure API Management:

• Fully configured APIM instance
• Clear maintenance and management documentation

Architecture and development guidelines for the future:

• API design principles
• Naming conventions
• Best practices for Lekkerland’s development teams

Thanks to the collaboration with Bridg, Lekkerland now has a scalable integration layer that is ready for the future. New connections are built more quickly, integrations are more manageable, and innovations can be implemented more easily.
