The growth story of Rob de Rijk
The beginning of a success story
from learning to leading
Let's go back to 2021. Rob was at that time looking for more depth in his work. He wanted to immerse himself in one organisation, one product, and one market, and from there create genuine value for customers. His goal was clear: to bridge the gap between software and user. "Translating complex processes into workable solutions, through workshops and conversations with clients." that's where he gains energy. At Bridg, he found exactly that combination. Rob started as a functional business analyst on government projects in the Netherlands and delved deeply into processes, people, and systems. Working for the government involved complexity, but also impact.
The chance to grow
you get that at Bridg
Rob quickly expressed his ambition. Not driven by titles, but by motivation. “I gain energy from making work easier for others,” he explains. From previous experiences, he knew how important good guidance is, both towards clients and colleagues. What characterizes Rob is that he was allowed to shape his growth step by step. After two years, he had the opportunity to advance to a team coach, a role he gradually took on while remaining actively involved in operational work as an analyst. That gradual transition, supported by training and coaching, made the difference.
At the beginning of 2024, together with the launch of our new brand name Bridg, a new opportunity presented itself sooner than expected: becoming BUM of Nimbl Case Management. “Making choices is also about letting go of things,” Rob said about that. “You leave a familiar environment behind.” But thanks to good guidance and trust from the organization, he seized that opportunity with both hands.
From content to overview
Today Rob is the Business Unit Manager, after 3.5 years of full-time operational involvement in projects. That substantive foundation proved to be crucial. His focus is now less on daily execution and more on the bigger picture: planning, finances, people management, and strategic decisions. What makes his role so interesting is the breadth. Rob is currently involved in both sales and operations, in Belgium and the Netherlands. He switches seamlessly between executive level and analysts and understands the realities of both worlds. When a problem arises, operational or financial, his background as a functional analyst helps him to view solutions within their full context. “Curiosity, an overview, and the bigger picture remain essential.” he kept repeating.
Why Bridg?
What Rob values most about Bridg is the deliberate choice to fill management roles internally. No influx of external managers who just “pop in for a while”, but colleagues who thoroughly know the projects, clients, and processes. Through a Talent Management Analysis, employees gain insight into their competencies and growth potential. When these are matched with the requirements of a role, it creates room to take steps forward. Our five values serve as the framework, from recruitment to career advancement. Commitment is the foundation. If you do your job well, with engagement and ownership, it will be recognised.
